Using the external controller is straightforward. Plug in the heater, and the controller's LED lights will turn on. Press the button and switch it continuously until the LED display shows your desired temperature, ranging from 68°F to 93°F. After 3 seconds, the system will confirm the setting, and the heater will start warming up to your preset temperature.
The red light indicates the heater is in heating mode, while the blue light turns on when the heater reaches the preset temperature, signaling it will stop heating (until the temperature drops below the preset level).
For example, if the preset temperature is 68°F and you want to adjust it to 78°F, press the button 10 times continuously. The LED display will show 78°F, and after 3 seconds of flashing, the setting is complete, and the heater will start heating from 68°F to 78°F.
Maintaining the heater is easy. It is a low-maintenance item, but we suggest the following to ensure its optimal performance and longevity:
- Check the heater's working status regularly. If you notice any unusual signs, unplug it immediately.
- Clean the heater's suction cups every 3 months using 140°F warm water and let it soak for a while.
- If you find any soil or moss on the heater, unplug it and clean the heating part with fresh water after a few minutes.
- Do not use any other liquid to clean the heater, as it may damage the device.
Please exercise caution when using the heater. Ensure that it is installed and used under the rated voltage conditions (110V-120V/60Hz). This heater is designed for small freshwater or saltwater tanks, so do not use it in chemical water or for any other heating purpose, as it may damage the device.
Children should use this heater under adult supervision. The IPX8 design is non-detachable, so do not attempt to disassemble it, as it will damage the heater. To ensure the heater's normal function and safety, it should be fully submerged in the water.
Lastly, it's important to note that the water temperature can be easily affected by the room temperature, which can lead to inaccuracies of up to ±3°F. To help the heater work more efficiently, please use it in a circulating water tank, as still water can cause the heater's area to have a higher temperature than other parts of the tank.
The PULACO Aquarium Heater 50 Watt comes equipped with an external LED temperature display and touch button, allowing you to easily and safely adjust the temperature as needed.
